Carlysle's OCD

So not only does Carlysle get her stubborness and sassy attitude from Joey (all the sweet stuff came from me) but she also may have a touch of his OCD. For the record, he does not think he has OCD....he says it's his idiosyncrasies. Ok, Joey. Well, Carlysle loves to line up.....well anything she can find. Mostly on the edges of things. She loves to set her blocks or toys along the bar underneath our kitchen table chairs or across the rail of our bed. She is very meticulous about it and gets frustrated very easily if the object will not stay put. The following pictures and video are from one of the days when I found her in our bathroom doing this.......

Still Catching up with Summer Pictures

Here are some more pictures from Palmetto Falls. Sara and I took Gavin and Carlysle this past summer. They had a blast. I'm sure Carlysle enjoyed having someone to play with besides me!

We're Back!!

Ok well for tonight. I am trying really hard to get back to updating the blog regularly which is going to require me to first upload all the pictures and video from this summer. Never again will I be such a slacker. The longer you wait the more overwhelming it becomes.

So just an update on why our blog has been stuck on Mother's Day weekend for 3 months. We moved!!! Yeah!! No, we did not sell our house yet. But the drive to Lexington was too much and we found a house that we fell in love with. So we have spent most of the summer trying to get settled into a new house and new jobs for both of us. And also a new baby-sitter for Carlysle. Her name is Alysson, she is a student at USC but lives in Lexington with her parents. She is an early education major, a wonderful Christian and an absolute blessing. She and Carlysle have formed a wonderful bond, which is exactly what I wanted. I was incredibly anxious about going back to work after staying home for 18 months. The moment I met her I felt at ease. She finds the coolest things to do with Carlysle and has taught her so many new things.

I have loved "working" again. I only work part-time and the other days I still get to be at home with Carlysle. I love being able to get out of the house and use my brain again (although Kyle and Joey will say there are some days when they are not sure that is true). I have had to ease into the whole "using my brain again" thing. On the days I'm off Carlysle and I always stop by the office for lunch or just for her to play. She loves going up there. I think it's because of the attention she gets from the staff. Joey and I couldn't be happier with the situation and it is exactly what we hoped it would be. So that's what has been going on in our lives and I have lots of pictures to post including pics of the new house....just as soon as we finish all our projects. Ha, ha that was a joke. The projects will never end!!!
